This is a brief overview of the steps involved in setting up a store, but it should give you a good understanding of the process.
Your store information

You'll start with your company information, shipping, tax information, and social media accounts (If your company has a presence).
Though not required, having an accountant to answer some of these questions is well worth the cost (IMHO).
Product info
This information is essential for helping potential customers understand and purchase your products.
You'll need a clear and concise product title, description, and price for each product.
Also high-quality images and videos of your product, and be sure to list all relevant product details, such as variants, dimensions, and materials.
Designing your look
Products you sell
Have to entice to your customers' and tell them how it will solve their problem.
Engaging product descriptions accomplish this through clear, concise language, and with vivid imagery and storytelling.
Store organization
Navigation menus (think menu bars) and product groupings (collections) are structured to help visitors find your products.
Using these simple tools effectively can increase visitors' experience and improve sales.
Product presentation
The product page is where the add-to-cart and buy-now buttons allow your visitors to become clients.
You control product variant presentation, discounts, price variance, how the description is displayed, and whether you want to provide supporting product information (like sizing charts for clothing).
Talk to visitors
You can talk to every visitor through specialized pages added to your site.
The About page allows you to tell them about you and your store.
The FAQ page provides answers to commonly asked questions.
Store looks
Everything from "store organization" to "talk to your visitors'" is based on the store design and what template you choose.
A Shopify store template is a collection of stencils that you can layer and modify to create the look and feel of your store.
